Homemade Autumn Drink Recipes

Autumn has certainly arrived, so we’re saying goodbye to iced tea and hello to warming, seasonal drinks.

To celebrate the new season, we’re taking inspiration from the high street and showing you how to recreate famous autumn drink specials at home with Tidy Tea (and coffee!) – we’ll also be using products from some of our favourite Welsh food and drink businesses along the way.

We’ll be posting more Tidy Tea serving suggestions across our social platforms, so make sure you’re following us on TikTok or Instagram!

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

Of course, we had to recreate this iconic beverage. We’ve used our Arabica coffee bags to offer a smooth, rich flavour alongside those vibrant autumnal tastes we know and love.

For this recipe, you will need:

Making this recipe is quick and easy; just follow these steps:

  • Brew a coffee bag for 5 minutes in ½ a cup of boiling water
  • Add your milk to a pan and warm gently
  • Add a ¼ teaspoon of each of the following: Ground cinnamon, ground allspice, ground cloves, ground ginger
  • Add a squeeze of honey to sweeten to taste
  • Remove the coffee bag from your cup and top up with your seasoned milk
  • Add a sprinkle of cinnamon on top

This homemade pumpkin spice latte is sweet, spicy and delicious. Watch us make this recipe.

Mulled Apple Cider

Introducing our Mulled Apple Cider, inspired by the classic recipe from the US. It’s ideal for when you’re looking for an alcohol-free version of mulled wine for the cosy season.

For this recipe, you will need:

  • 2 Winter Warmer tea bags
  • 250 ml apple juice
  • A few slices of fresh ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick

To make the recipe:

  • Add 250ml of water and 250ml of apple juice to a pan on the hob
  • Add 2 Winter Warmer tea bags to the pan
  • Pop in a few slices of fresh ginger and 1 cinnamon stick
  • Stir occasionally and warm gently until the blend reaches your desired drinking temperature
  • Decant into your favourite cup

Our Winter Warmer blend is a black tea with spices and citrus peel, and this recipe definitely elevates the autumnal flavours. This drink is warm, comforting and the perfect companion for cosy afternoons on the sofa. Watch how we make this recipe here.

Maple Sea Salt Coffee

Maple flavours are back on the high street this year, so of course we’ve put a Tidy spin on it! Say hello to our Maple Sea Salt Coffee, made with our Tidy Coffee bags and Halon Môn Sea Salt.

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Tidy Coffee Bags
  • Maple Syrup
  • A sprinkle of sea salt
  • Milk of your choice

This recipe is super quick to make:

  • Brew a coffee bag for 5 minutes
  • Add a dash of maple syrup to taste
  • Add a sprinkle of sea salt
  • Top up with milk

Did you know that sea salt enhances the flavour of coffee? It blocks the bitter taste receptors on your tongue to give a smoother finish!

This autumn drink recipe is simple but satisfying – and we’ll be reaching for it time and again! Watch us make this recipe here.
