What is sustainable tea?
Sustainable tea has to be environmentally friendly and ethical at every level of production. This includes:
- Sourcing responsibly grown tea, considering soil health, farming methods and the overall carbon footprint of production
- Ensuring farmers are treated fairly and given a fair price for their produce
- Aiming for zero waste with recyclable packaging
This is true for all our Tidy Tea blends.
Biodegradable, non-plastic tea bags - just recycle at home
Our pyramids are 100% plastic and GMO-free, so you get nothing but the good stuff in your mug - full of flavour with no microplastics entering your drink. For that reason, non-plastic tea bags can be better for you than regular pyramids, while also being more sustainable.
Our biodegradable tea bags are fully compostable. As they are made from plant-based materials, they are safe and easy to recycle at home; simply dispose of them in your food waste or compost bin once you’ve brewed your perfect cup.
Plastic-free coffee bags
When we launched our luxury coffee bags, we knew we had to offer the same level of sustainability as our tea blends. That’s why each serving of coffee is packaged into a plastic-free bag and stored within a recyclable cardboard box - learn more about our packaging below!

Every box is made from cardboard, so it can be put straight into your household recycling, while the packet that holds the tea pyramids is made from cornstarch and will decompose within your home compost bin.
